The course covers introductory-level music theory and ear-training, including clef reading, pitch and rhythmic notation, intervals, scales, key signatures, harmony, ear training and sight singing. The final project is to compose a simple blues, folk or popular song.
Though it is not required to have previous experience with music, it will be helpful for students to have participated in music in some capacity.
