Miscellaneous Information

  • Access codes

If the class you are taking uses an E-Pack in addition to the textbook, you will need an access code in order to use it. If you order your E-Pack through the CCCOnline Bookstore, your access code should be included with your textbook. If you order your E-Pack through another store, you will have to buy an access code separately.

    Lab kits

Some science courses have lab kits. It is very important to purchase these kits immediately when the course begins. Please order directly from LabPaq.com.

Science

Explore your world in a whole new way – with science! Whether you take astronomy, biology, chemistry, or something else in science, you will discover new ideas and concepts about the world around you – all in the comfort of your own chair. CCCOnline offers classes in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Geology and Physics. Some require laboratory work, but even that can be done wherever you are, without a trip to campus. Come and explore the world of science with us.

A solid knowledge-base in science may lead you to an exciting and ever-changing career. And as technology changes, new and interesting jobs – some in fields that haven’t yet been invented – will be available to those with the right education and skills. Students prepared in the sciences have a multitude of opportunities post-degree. These include further studies in graduate school or careers in the health professions or in industry, so that science graduates can look forward to work in diverse areas/organizations such as these:

  • The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
  • Forensic Science (FBI, ATF, law enforcement, crime labs)
  • National Laboratories such as Los Alamos or Argonne
  • Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
  • The Center for Disease and Control (CDC)
  • Corporations such as Du Pont, Dow Chemical
  • Biotechnology firms such as Amgen, Genetech or Chiron
  • Petroleum Corporations such as Exxon or Shell Oil
  • Pharmaceutical Industry professions
  • Medical work in prominent hospitals such as John’s Hopkins or The Mayo Clinic
  • Cancer or AIDS Research
  • Teaching

Scientists are generally well paid and contribute significantly to our country and the world. The possibilities are huge!

It is Rocket Science

CCCOnline has some impressive Science instructors who have traveled the world – and in some cases the universe – to gather their own knowledge and expertise. They are just waiting to pass it along to their students. Our instructors have worked in laboratories, discovering how cells react to new medications; for NASA on Space Shuttle missions and satellite communications; for the military and federal government on environmental issues.

Guaranteed Transfer Courses

CCCOnline's Associate of Science degree (AS) is a transfer degree designed for students who plan to transfer their community-college credits to a four-year college or university and plan to major in the sciences. If you go on to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree, you can transfer the credits you earn in CCCOnline's science classes as part of the statewide guaranteed (gt) transfer curriculum (gtPathways). Those classes are required for most associate and bachelor’s degree programs in Colorado – regardless of the degree area.
