Transferring Credits: gtPathways = Guaranteed Transfer

The Colorado Department of Higher Education guarantees that the credits students earn for successfully completing courses in its approved gtPathways Curriculum will transfer to other public two- and four-year colleges and universities in Colorado.  The receiving institution must apply the gtPathways credits toward the transferring student’s general education or major requirements.

Community college students who ARE NOT seeking a degree may transfer up to 31 credits from an approved list of courses under the gtPathways agreement.

Students who complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at a Colorado Community College System institution may transfer the entire 60 credits completed for that degree to any of the public four-year colleges and universities in Colorado and start as a junior.  Students must successfully complete at least 60 additional credits to earn a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree – depending on the area of emphasis they choose.

Students who successfully complete an Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree, an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, or certificate at a Colorado Community College System institution also may be able to transfer all 60 credits earned toward that degree – depending on the area of emphasis and the receiving institution’s requirements for specific degree programs.  Students who plan to complete an AGS or an AAS through CCCOnline or one of the 13 Colorado Community College System institutions should talk to an advisor at their home colleges or at the four-year college or university they hope to attend.
